Khai is a creative producer with a passion for amplifying underrepresented voices in the arts. Originally from Singapore, she is now based in London where she continue to champion diverse stories.
Khai’s journey in the arts began in 2010 with The Necessary Stage in Singapore, where she had the privilege of working on award-winning productions like Gemuk Girls (Fat Girls) & Model Citizens, as well as supporting the M1 Singapore Fringe Festival.
In 2012, she joined The Substation as Programmes Manager, where she was responsible for programming major annual events like the Night Festival and SeptFest. She also led the Performing Arts season, commissioning new works and providing a platform for emerging artists to experiment and take creative risks.
In 2016, she took the leap into freelance work, managing HATCH, a local theatre collective, and producing a range of original productions including Hawa, Super Happy Land, Cari Makan, and Lanang. One of the highlights was taking Super Happy Land on tour to Osaka, Japan, and Hawa to Brisbane Fest, Australia.
In 2018, she moved to London to pursue an MA in Creative Producing at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. Graduating in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic,she launched RUMAH, a virtual space supporting Asian diaspora creatives. Through online events like Main-Main (Scratch Nights) and Crying Parties, she was able to bring artists together, foster connection, and provide a supportive space for skill-building during a challenging time. RUMAH was supported by Arts Council England and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.In 2022, she was nominated for Asian Woman of Achievement by NatWest.
Since 2021, she have worked work with a range of incredible companies. She has served as Interim Creative Producer for Departure Lounge at In Good Company, a key development program for creatives in the Midlands. That same year, she was Project Manager / Assistant Producer with Complicité and supported in The Dark Is Rising, Figures in Extinction, and Can I Live? by Fehinti Balogun.
That same year, Khai was awarded the Stage One Producers Bursary which supported her in producing Martha Watson Allpress’s award winning show, Patricia Gets Ready to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2021, followed by a regional tour.

In 2023, Khai returned to producing/freelancing full-time, collaborating with companies like Vital Xposure Hackney Empire & Brixton House, where she supported the annual Housemates Festival. Her last gig was Tour Producer for Spare Tyre’s sensory production On the Beach, designed specifically for older adults living with dementia and their carers.
Currently transitioning into a new role as General Manager, Khai is managing LUNG -
a campaign led arts charity, as well as Spymonkey, the UK’s leading physical comedy ensemble. She is also Trustee for Transform Festival
